Reena N. Patel, MD, received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Northwestern University before earning her Doctorate of Medicine with honors and distinction from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Following medical school, Dr. Patel participated in a select internship program at the world famous Mayo Clinic, and completed her ophthalmology residency at Tulane School of Medicine, serving as Chief Resident for five months. Dr. Patel's formal training culminated with the completion of a cornea fellowship at the University of Oklahoma's Dean McGee Eye Institute, through which she specialized in corneal external disease, complex cataract surgery and refractive surgery. Dr. Patel's experience and surgical prowess is such that she has been included in a variety of publications geared towards eye care. She has played a major role in the research and development of new treatment modalities, and has been invited to present her findings at various national and international eye meetings.
