Dr. Jean Hassan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the prestigious University of Paris Medical School in 1981. He completed his residency in Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery in 1987 and his fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery in 1990.
Dr. Hassan also trained at the Berkshire Medical Center, affiliated with the University of Massachusetts, and at the Orlando Regional Medical Center, affiliated with the University of Florida, to meet his U.S. licensure requirements.
Dr. Hassan currently holds active licenses in California, New York, Kansas, New Mexico and Utah.
Dr. Hassan is truly internationally trained and has performed well over 16,000 surgeries, with extensive exposure and expertise in laser cosmetic surgery, endoscopic facial surgery and the field of liposuction. Dr. Hassan had the privileges to train with Drs. Yves-Gerard Illouz and Dr. Pierre Fournier, French plastic surgeons who greatly improved suction-assisted lipoplasty through the use of blunt-tipped cannulas and high-vacuum suction, resulting in shorter recovery times and less post-operative discomfort and complications. This began the technique of liposuction as we know it today. They became known as the pioneers of liposuction.
Dr. Hassan was among the few French surgeons who brought liposuction to the United States and began practicing this procedure on their own. They understood that liposuction was truly beneficial when performed by a surgeon who was skilled, was responsible and had a good aesthetic eye.
