2007 will be the 33rd anniversary of Surgicare of Wichita (Surgicare) providing high quality outpatient surgical procedures to Wichita and the surrounding area.
Surgicare, formerly known as the Minor Surgery Center of Wichita, was established on February 18, 1974 as the first demonstration of entrepreneurship in outpatient surgery in Wichita, KS. Surgicare was the second freestanding surgery center in the United States. The goal then and continues to be to provide the highest quality patient care and customer service.
Surgicare is still located at its original site at 810 N. Lorraine and has undergone several renovations to maintain its high standards of quality of care. Surgicare has performed over 180,000 outpatient surgical cases in its thirty-three (33) year history.
Today, Surgicare is still committed to the original purpose established by the two (2) physician founders to provide cost effective, high quality health care in a freestanding outpatient facility.
That commitment is demonstrated by our current Accredition Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) certification. A continous quality improvement program is the heart of an accredited facility to insure patient safety and satisfaction.
Surgicare's staff in 1974 was committed to these goals and that legacy continues with our current staff in 2007.
