Brown Auction was founded by John and Jerry Brown in 1940! They conducted the old fashioned farm sales back when they sold goats, chickens and the one-horse plow was just going out of style. Depression glass was new, wooden ice boxes were going out of style and if you could find a bid - it probably just brought a quarter! The clerk was the local banker who cashiered out of his pocket and made loans on site with just a handshake.

As you can see, we have been around a while - 70 years to be exact! Not many firms can claim this longevity, but those that can have obviously treated both the buyer and seller fair. We have been given a great example of honesty and fairness and strive to continue that tradition today! After all is said and done, the only thing you can take with you is your reputation!

In about 1980 Brown Auction began specializing in antique auctions. Fine china, glass, art pottery, cast iron banks, cookie jars -- you name it! The last 30 years have seen us travel to eight different states in the MidWest selling antiques.

Brown Auction & Real Estate is physically located in Greensburg, Kansas. We are just 100 miles west of Wichita and only 35 miles east of 'Old Dodge City.' Even though we are located in a remote area we have stretched out and can service your auction needs throughout the MidWest.

Our plan is to list both local and regional auctions on this web page. Most of you will be interested in the specialty auctions we conduct and not the old-fashioned local household good sales. However, our local clientle who have supported us for many years want to see the local sales on their computer. Yes, even here in southwest Kansas many, many people are relying on this 21st century technology to plan their activities.
