Come celebrate the holiday season in the Festive Spirit of The NUTCRACKER Ballet. Enjoy delicious desserts, coffee, tea and hot cocoa at no extra cost. Meet our costumed dancers of the ballet including Clara and Fritz. Watch as they magically perform parts of the Ballet, pose for photos, and even have impromptu dance lessons!

Our professional face painter will transform young and old with her beautiful designs.
Dress is comfortable casual to party dresses and certainly ballet-related costumes are welcome.

Born in Rochester, New York, Kristi Boone trained at the Draper Dance Studio. Boone danced many roles with the Rochester City Ballet including the lead role in The Firebird and the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Dewdrop in The Nutcracker. She received full scholarships at the San Francisco Ballet Program, the Chautauqua Institute Ballet Program and ABTs Summer Intensive Program where she was named a Coca-Cola Scholarship recipient in 1998 and 1999.Boone joined ABTs Studio Company (now ABT II) in August 1999, joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet in August 2000 and was appointed a Soloist in August 2007.

A native of Kernersville, North Carolina, Isaac Stappas studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts for nine years. While at the school, Stappas trained under the direction of Duncan Noble, Warren Conover, Melissa Hayden, Fanchon Cordell, Nina Danilova and Frank Smith. Prior to joining American Ballet Theatre, Stappas performed the role of Espada in Don Quixote, Vas Lav3=split by Mark Dendy and many other classical and contemporary works. He spent two years in ABTs Studio Company before joining ABTs main company in 2000.

Dorio Perez has danced professionally for over thirty years. After finishing his studies at the Arts Educational School in London, England, and dancing in Lausanne Switzerland, he came to the U.S. He danced three years in the National Ballet in Washington, two years as a soloist in Chicago Ballet and then over twenty three years in Houston Ballet, first as a soloist, then as principal dancer from 1978 until he retired in 1999. Mr. Perez has interpreted over 130 roles in more than 75 different ballets in over 200 cities around the world and staged numerous ballets for companies including American Ballet Theater. Mr. Perez has been teaching ballet classes for schools and companies across the country since retiring from Houston Ballet.

Dr. Jay Decker
Dr. Jay Decker Professor Emeritus of Music Wichita State University Jay Decker joined the Wichita State University faculty in 1971 and served as professor of music, conductor of the WSU Symphony Orchestra and Director of String Studies until his retirement in 1998. Concurrently with his duties at WSU he was also the associate conductor of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra. Since his retirement Dr. Decker has continued to appear frequently with the Wichita Symphony conducting Young Peoples Concerts, the Family Holiday Concerts and the Wichita River Festival Twilight Pops concerts. Dr. Decker continues to serve as conductor of Ballet Wichitas annual performances of The Nutcracker, a position he has held since 1990.
