We offer individual, family, group, and marital counseling for those who have mental health problems, and for those who have substance abuse problems or addiction. We also offer psychiatric medication services and psychological evaluation.
For adults with mental illness, and for children/adolescents who have serious emotional disturbance (and their families), we have intensive outpatient services that are usually offered in places other than an office, such as the homes of our adult consumers and the homes and schools of our school-aged consumers. These services may be offered in other locations in the community as well.
KANZA Mental Health Center is licensed as a community mental health center, and has been providing continuous outpatient mental healthcare in the region since 1963. Our licensed therapists, doctors, nurses, case managers, peer support and attendance care workers, and others who provide services to our consumers, are caring, dedicated, and trained professionals.
Mission Statement: Kanza Mental Health Guidance Center offers hope to build a better tomorrow through mental health and substance abuse services.
Who Do We Serve?
Every resident of our four-county service area is eligible, regardless of income. Some folks have serious concerns that may be termed "problems of living", or what others may call a mental health problem, for which once per week counseling, and perhaps short-term medication, may be needed. These individuals (or couples, families) usually don't require long-term services. Others who seek our services have some form of mental illness, for which longer-term and more intensive outpatient services may be needed. KANZA offers persons dealing with mental illness the hope of recovery and a better life. Persons who have a mental illness usually need medication as a part of their treatment plan. Substance abuse evaluation and counseling are also offered. Services are available to children and adults.
We accept all forms of insurance (including payments from HMO's and other managed care programs), Kansas Medicaid, Medicare, HealthWave 21, Champus, and so on. If you don't have any form of insurance, or any kind of third party coverage, then we'll set a fee with you that you can afford. Anyone, regardless of income, can afford the mental health or substance abuse services that we offer. Services will not be denied due to the inability to pay.
