We know that a good daily care routine is a very important factor in preventing the need for extensive dental treatment. Combined with regular professional cleaning every 6 months, a careful and diligent daily home care routine will greatly reduce the need for further dental treatment.
We recommend the following daily checklist:

Brush after every meal when you can. At the minimum, you should brush thoroughly in the morning after breakfast and in the evening right before retiring.

Floss after every brushing. Again, at the minimum, floss just before you go to bed.

If you can't brush after a meal, end the meal with a coarse type of food like celery, a carrot, an apple, etc.

Chew sugarless gum if you are unable to brush or rinse after a meal.

Irrigate your teeth and gums on a daily basis. The Sonicare brand of toothbrush is great, followed closely by the Braun electric toothbrush.

Clean your tongue on a daily basis, preferably in the morning.

We also highly recommend the CloSYSII system of oral home care for all our patients.

Another product that we recommend is PreviDent 5000 and Clinpro 5000.
