Hittle & Hood The Kitchen Source

Another great kitchen remodel! One of the things I love most about remodeling is getting to know my clients as we go through the design process.

Another signature kitchen by Hittle & Hood

Here you have a very large remodel. The client had an eight year old ranch home that was nice, but didn’t function as they had hoped after it was
custom built. So planning started, walls were marked for demo, and through a lot of dirt, drywall dust, all new flooring, and cabinetry we took a
four-room area and made it into one cohesive whole. Now the client can cook (or grill) from the hearth area and be right with anyone else who is
visiting. As well as enjoy a spectacular view right in their own kitchen. Wow. Look at the talent on that hood as well as the columns. We work
with the best installers! A great project that I am so proud to have been a part of!

12 Ways a Countertop Changes Everything

A great article from one of my favorite designers, Susan Serra!

What a whirlwind! I hope you are enjoying this new year! In efforts to make this website more lively I will be posting more… more of our own client work from start to finish as well as ideas and inspiration for you to pull your own thoughts together. Today we had two walk in clients that hadn’t been in before asking specifically about kitchen islands. So in the spirit of today… enjoy!

Gorgeous slabs from mother nature… I thought I had seen a lot of granite in my years in the kitchen and bath business until Vic and I went to the slab yard to hand pick our own. Wow. I was blown away. Each color has so much to offer… I felt as if I were walking through and art exhibition. Another reason I love granite… and no contrary to popular belief it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, nor is it hard to maintain.

And the after… (I am trying this in a different format as a collage! In the future I plan on doing all my client photos this way.)

Another great kitchen remodel! One of the things I love most about remodeling is getting to know my clients as we go through the design process. And this job was no exception. In fact I met such a special friend in the process!! We had several things we were trying to accomplish with this remodel other than just aesthetics. We needed more countertops, better appliances, and better storage! All the right reasons to remodel! And although a new refrigerator was not in the final kitchen budget we did allow the space so that when the time comes the new one will slide right in without a hitch.

Pulls: Stainless Steel Bar
Come see us if you have a project no matter how large or small…
we will work with you and get you the space of your dreams…
all while being budget friendly.

Finally getting around to posting photos of a kitchen that we completed just before Thanksgiving last year. Things are always crazy as far as scheduling goes and we are making it a priority to photograph our spaces now! Yeah! This was a great job with wonderful clients sorry it is over!

Backsplash: Original Styles Seneca
Appliances: GE cooktop, oven, and microwave; Frigidaire refrigerator and freezer; Bosch dishwasher; Kitchen Aid compactor.

Fabulous new venting options for a modern kitchen!

I was cathing up on my design reading… well as much as reading of a magazine counts as reading… and caught an eye on this beautiful light fixture. But more than just a light fixture it is a HOOD! I love this! Take a peek…and check out elica.com for more!

I have this great metal board for backsplash material and to be honest I have had a hard time visualizing it installed because of the harshness that metal has… and all over the backslash?!? Wow. A great job done here. If you are considering using metal take advice from this photo and keep with a more modern sleek look in your cabinetry and hardware. And be sure your appliances are stainless (or clean steel) too!!

Bathroom in Progress

I thought I would share some quick photos that I took while doing a jobsite yesterday. This was a complete gut and remodel of one of the oldest houses in Chanute. The client wanted a very calm and cool space with a little bling… for those of you that know me… I’m all over that! We are close to being ready to finish… at this point we have grouted and are ready for the plumber.

This shot is a bit confusing… the shower wall on the left is still paper faced from installation. Proper installation of glass tiles requires white thinset and then after it dries the paper is taken off with water… then buffed out with a dry cloth, then grouted. I love the shimmer of the metallic!!!
And this photo does not do the vanity justice. We are installing the same metallic glass tile over the vanity and it will have a mirrored medicine cabinet with wall sconces right and left. *And all the switches will be changed to WHITE…. just in case you were wondering

Giving More than Could ever be Re-Paid

So we have done a kitchen give away… and someday want to do a “habitat” style home reno for a needy family. But until that can come true I think I am going a different route. Currently we have a whirlpool (air jetted) tub on display with lights… head rest… the worksin the reception at the store. It has never been used and is valued at over $3000. I have decided to auction this tub and proceeds will go to a family in need. Are you guys up for an auction on a really nice tub?!?

Do you all have any ideas on how I should auction this? Silent auction at the store? Online? Gimme your thoughts!
