Operation Plenty 2010 begins Sunday, November 14, 2010

Operation Plenty is serving 15 families this year. Each family will receive not only food for a holiday meal but also a variety of staple foods, vegetables, and household items to help them after the holidays are over.
This year we are posting the nonperishable food items November 14. They are due December 5. The gifts requested will be posted November 28 or as soon as known and are due December 12. We hope this will help spread out the expense and also take advantage of holiday food sales over Thanksgiving. Delivery is December 19.

Bible Study Group for MomsGood Shepherd has started a bible study group for stay-at-home moms with children at home or in school and their friends. Our group meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month (except December--no 3rd Monday meeting because of the holidays). Here is what our schedule looks like:
9:30-10:30 a.m. – Bible Study Group Time! We are currently reading “Bad Girls of the Bible”. Each time we meet, we discuss a chapter. Each chapter is independent of each other, so you can jump in and join us anytime! If you don’t have time to read . . . no problem as we always summarize the reading before going into the discussion. Childcare in the nursery is provided for moms with children not in school yet. We meet in the “Den”, which is up the hall from the nursery.
10:30-11:30 a.m. – Play Group Time! Meet in the nursery. Moms with young children at home are encouraged to come during this time. The kiddos can play and socialize while the moms stay and visit together in the nursery. Please note this is a play group that moms stay and play too!
Please come and join in! You are welcome to come to part or all of the morning. Coordinators: Gina Aguirre (721-8783) & Beckie Avery (729-8099)
Sunday School Is Going Strong &
We Have Something For You!
We have great programs in store for all ages, from kindergarten through adults.
~Nikki Coryea and a host of assistants will be watching after our infants and toddlers.
~Becky Hundley and Gina Aguirre will be teaching K-1.
~Rachel Kossover and Patti Eleeson will be teaching grades 2 and 3.
~Teri Rupe and Jae Baba will be teaching grades 4 and 5 in Club 4/5.
Middle School and High School
Classes for Middle and High School Sunday mornings differ from youth groups, even though the kids will be the same.
~Danette Friedel and Chris Hand will be rousting the High School kids into a Christian frenzy. Okay, well, maybe not a frenzy like some churches do "frenzy." But they will be having a great time there. And the more students that come, the more fun it will be.
~Christine Seaton, Cara Ledy, and Mike Flaigle working their magic to make this one of the biggest and bestest middle school groups we have had in a few years.
The Tuesday Morning Study Group will be starting a new series called "Fire on the Mountain!" It promises to "spark" some interest in "hot" conversations, peaking with a "scorching" personal discussion. Don't hesitate to come only once, if you want -- just to see if it feels like your kind of group. Whether once or every week, come join us at 10 a.m. Tuesdays in the Library.
