FDIC Transaction Account Guarantee Program Notice
First State Bank, with locations in Norton, Plainville, Hill City and Hoxie, will no longer be participating in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. After December 31, 2009, funds held in noninterest-bearing transaction accounts will no longer be guaranteed in full under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program, but will be insured up to $250,000 under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules. First State Bank accounts affected by this change include Regular Checking Accounts, Personal NOW Accounts and Super NOW Accounts.

UNLAWFUL INTERNET GAMBLING ENFORCEMENT ACT NOTICE Transactions restricted by the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA) are prohibited from being processed through commercial accounts. This prohibition became effective on January 19, 2009, with mandatory compliance required by June 1, 2010.

As defined in Regulation GG, unlawful internet gambling means to “place, receive or otherwise knowingly transmit a bet or wager by any means which involves the use, at least in part, of the internet where such bet or wager is initiated, received or otherwise made.” These restricted transactions are prohibited from being processed through an account or banking relationship with the bank. If you do engage in an internet gambling business and open a new account with us, we will ask that you provide evidence of your legal capacity to do so.
