2008: The Cherryvale Leatherock Hotel is pleased to announce the addition to its suites and guestrooms, the Santa Fe Agent's Guestroom on the main floor, as part of the continuing ambitious restoration project of the historic 1912 railroad hotel in Southeast Kansas. This guestroom is a replica of the agents office in the historic Cherryvale Santa Fe Depot built in 1910 on North Depot Street. It reflects Cherryvale's "Golden Age" of steam rail transportation with railroad maps, photographs, drawings, and Santa Fe memorabilia. The Leatherock Hotel was built as an eatery and an overnight stop-over point at the crossings of the north-south Santa Fe Railway from Kansas City to Tulsa and the east-west St. Louis and San Francisco "Frisco" Railway.
Come and enjoy both Railway's Heritage when trains traveled six different routes through Cherryvale and still do today.
Other rooms and suites are being lovingly and thoughtfully restored to various periods of the Hotel's and Cherryvale's history. The PCR Management Corporation, a Nevada Corporation, has been contracted to complete this work.. The famous celebrities that where born in Cherryvale, Kansas, will be honored with Bed & Breakfast suites and guestrooms. The Santa Fe Corner Gift Shop will soon be open featuring railroad, travel and toy gift items along with many Kansas-made products. The Frisco Conference / Banquet Hall, and the Santa Fe Lounge are available to rent for your group activities and entertainment.
Campers, mobile homes, and trailers welcome! RV Hook-Ups with electric and water facilities (water only during summer months) are located on Front Street and the hotel driveway. Restroom and laundry facilities are available inside the hotel by prior arrangement. Overnight boat and horse trailer parking is available.
Truckers always welcome! We are just 1-mile east at the junction of U.S. Highway 169 and Cherryvale Main Street where local trucking facilities, Sonic Drive-In, and Jump Start gas/diesel/convenience store are located.
